LORALEI ROSE is a community oriented-pinay-heARTist from the 562. She spends her days and her nights putting her creativity into action. Ever since her days as a high school-er obsessed with arts and crafts, Loralei Rose has cultivated a relationship with creativity that has yet to cease.
Loralei Rose obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Ethnic Studies from the University of California, San Diego (2005). She is also a Certified SoulCollage Facilitator (2008) and Certified Expressive Arts Practitioner (2011). She has spent time nourishing her passion for holistic and balanced living while studying natural medicine with shamans in Belize. An activist at heart, Loralei Rose taught English in the Visayan Region of the Philippines, served two years in the Americorps as a Leadership Fellow with Public Allies Los Angeles, and organized against human trafficking with Af3IRM (Association of Filipinas, Feminists Fighting Imperialism, Re-Feudalization, and Marginalization).
Today, Loralei Rose can be found displaying her mixed-media artwork, also known as “HeARTwork,” in art shows from San Diego to Eagle Rock. She finds ways to mix her love for the people with her love for art by offering art workshops to the community, which she calls “Paper Heart Workshops.” These workshops are not a paint by number class, but rather an innovative way to use expressive arts techniques to explore one’s inner self. She sees no separation between art and community and does everything she can to forge the two. As a co-founder of LOVEJOY, Loralei Rose aspires to inspire creativity and healing in every soul she meets.
